At Muhhammad era, jihad was the most powerful way on defend and fight agains moslems enemies. By that time, enemies fight moslem cause they are islam. Mean, they want to make Islam extinct. As you can read from many literures, Quraish, the most solid enemy of moslem offer Muhammad wealth, mean, the war and jihad happen not becouse of gold, wealth, or other reason. The islam is the reason. The religion.
Nowadays, people used word 'jihad' in different meaning. As long as they are moslem and fight, they call it Jihad. Its not true. Some of them fight cause of soil, politics, and other reason. Not because of protect Islam. Islam live at many region whole the world. Islam live in peace side by side with others. There is no reason at all to 'jihad'. To fight probably is, but no jihad.
Jihad only right if others force moslem to change their faith using violence. Others not. So if you are moslem, and somebody ask you to fight agains others, consider first. U fight for land, politics, justice, or religion. Jihad only for religion. Even you fight for good but if it not about protect your religion, you cannot call it Jihad. You may call it good war.
